Gemma Molero
Gemma Molero is a passionate plant physiologist and an innovative leader in wheat research and pre-breeding at KWS, where she oversees cross-country projects and digital phenotyping activities for wheat. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Barcelona, Spain, and has nearly two decades of experience in exploring photosynthesis and related traits at crop level. Currently based in France, she previously worked at the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT, Mexico) as part of the wheat physiology team where she developed novel methods and tools for phenotyping plant processes, such as spike photosynthesis, and screened diverse genetic resources for trait discovery and use in pre-breeding. She has published more than 50 peer reviewed articles and book chapters and has contributed to the development of new wheat lines that have been distributed worldwide.
