Jessica Ryder
Laboratory Coordinator
Jess is trained in ecology and conservation with a special focus on plant-microbial interactions. She has a varied background as a Research Technician and Laboratory Manager within university and start-up organisations in New Zealand. She has worked on everything from industrial microbiology and community ecology in wine science, to the production and end-stage testing of sustainable fungicides and pesticides from microbially derived compounds. She has always been passionate about the natural environment and is a self-proclaimed organisational nerd.
Now, she works at the Jan IngenHousz Institute as a Laboratory Coordinator. Here she will set up and maintain all the systems involved in keeping the JII laboratory spaces running smoothly, as well as leading a willing pair of hands to the research teams when needed.
