The Jan IngenHousz Institute (JII) is an independent research institute that focuses on improving photosynthesis to increase crop production. Our goal is to contribute to global food security in the face of climate change, biodiversity challenges, and population growth. With a diverse team of engineers, data scientists, plant physiologists and geneticists, we develop innovative methods and sensor technologies. We work together with universities and research institutions worldwide and are located on the campus of Wageningen University & Research.
As a student assistant you will support the large scale experiments and taking care of crops in various environments, such as climate chambers, greenhouses and fields (Unifarm/NPEC). You will help with the different analyses and photosynthesis measurements of plants in the field and the lab.
Your Responsibilities
Assisting researchers in executing field and lab work
Data collection under field, greenhouse and controlled conditions
Data entry and management
Assist in field sensor installation and maintenance
What we ask
You are a Bachelor or Master student in the Netherlands
You are available for at least 2 full days a week from May 1 to August 31. Preferably Tuesdays and Thursdays. Availability on other days is a plus
You are willing to spend your summer days in the field taking measurements
You are eager and proactive and collaborative
You have very good command of the English language

Standard compensation: € 18.73 , € 18.89, € 19.07 for 2e, 3e and 4e year students
You will receive 8% holiday pay and an 8.3% year-end bonus.
Note that
